Sure, I’ve been criticized before, and it feels awful. I get disappointed, sad, hurt and angry, down and depressed. But I never knew what I could do about it. I tried not to think about it, tried to concentrate on other things or share with a friend. But my down feelings were still there. Then I remembered the log and speck principle that was taught by a speaker in church. Jesus said that when a person criticizes (judges) or accuses someone else that they have a lot more of what they accused others of! Therefore, when I was criticized, the person that criticized me has a very large amount of what he criticized me for and it is his issue, not mine. He has a log-size problem! He will feel down and depressed for criticizing but that is up to him; it is not my problem. When I realized it was not my issue, I feel much better. I did feel sorry for him because he probably does not know how to get free of his bad feelings. Now I do not have to get angry and depressed, I just need to remember that it is his issue! And that is a huge relief.
